“Effective Representation in
the 6th District”
Spokane needs effective, knowledgeable and
enthusiastic representation in Olympia.
As your Representative, I will work for thoughtful, cost-effective government
policies that benefit all
people. Working for a non-profit charitable medical program, I have the philosophy that providing people who experience
barriers with the medical care they need, they will be better able to work and
support themselves and their families. I apply this concept to a broad
range of community and individual needs.
By helping people help themselves, through quality education and good
jobs, we all achieve a better quality of life and standard of living. As
your Representative, I will work for the values we share, focusing on our
quality of life by promoting high caliber education, family wage jobs, and
accessible high quality health care.
My platform and values center
on Enhancing and Preserving our
Quality of Life. I will work
for:
- Initiatives and policies that promote our
environment and preserve our regional beauty, outdoor recreation
opportunities and natural resources.
- Enhancing cultural, recreational and
entertainment activities, and encouraging policies that promote our
quality of life, tourism and that assist in business recruitment.
To achieve these goals, my priorities include:
* Quality Education
- Encourage Higher Education that increases our
capacity to support dynamic regional industries, progressive agricultural
practices, and innovative research.
- Develop and expand training programs at Community
& Technical Colleges; promote apprenticeships and internships with
industry and business that lead to good jobs.
- Assist secondary education to increase graduate
rates by guiding students to areas of learning that take advantage of each
person’s abilities and interests.
- Promote high quality early childhood education
that provides families the opportunity for their children to start school
ready to learn.
* Family Wage Jobs
- Support policies and programs that attract and
grow employment in vibrant, environmentally conscious, industries offering
family wages and benefits.
- Promote economic development initiatives that
create family wage jobs.
- Promote growth in research to support regional
industry and start-up businesses.
- Preserve existing jobs that provide living wages
and benefits.
*Accessible, High Quality Healthcare
- Support policies that improve access and enhance
the quality of healthcare in our region.
- Encourage training opportunities that ensure an
adequate healthcare workforce.
- Leverage community assets to ensure that ALL
people can obtain quality healthcare in a cost effective fashion.
